For All Sports Members:Important All-Sports Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May
15th7:30PM in the High School Library.
All members are welcome to participate and are encouraged to
attend.
Know that this meeting will not be cancelled.
The agenda includes the very important election of each All
Sports officer position in this order:
- President
- Vice-President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
According to requested legal counsel opinions, “In order to comply with the All Sports bylaws, the
Association should hold elections for all of its officers this year (the
president and secretary to comply with two-year term limits, and the vice
president and treasurer to comply with the requirement that those offices be elected
in even years).”
[Bylaws also indicate that a pro tempore president should be
elected for the May election meeting and state that elections be held in May]
As a paid member of All Sports, I feel an obligation to
ensure that members have the opportunity to be aware and have open access to
membership lists, agendas prior to the meetings, as well as minutes of meetings
– these in addition to receiving ongoing open and transparent communications.
Most important at this time is the right of All Sports members to have
the opportunity to elect officers to serve as the leaders of this organization
as stated in our organization’s bylaws. Therefore, having at this time
received no agenda for this May 15th meeting (as requested by me
repeatedly) I am sending a communication clarifying that this meeting will
include elections of all four officer positions at the start of the meeting –
per the bylaws to which this organization must abide.
Further, due to the fact that All Sports is a Northwestern
support organization the district has an interest in ensuring that bylaws are
followed and adhered to by the organization.
