SIGN UP FOR SCHOOL ALERTS:
Northwestern is now using School Messenger for alerts. Parent contacts are automatically imported into the system from the student information system. This will send parents district alerts and the alerts from the building or buildings your child attends. In order for this to work correctly, your phone information must be up to date, and must be updated if your phone number changes. You can update your phone info in Final Forms or by contacting your child's building. The database is updated nightly so any changes made to contact numbers should be updated the following day after your changes have been submitted by our staff.
In order to receive these alerts you will need to opt-in to the short code text number for the school if you haven't already done so. To opt-in, send a text message from your phone to 67587 with a Y in the message field. You will receive a message that your number has been registered. To stop receiving messages, text 67587 with an N in the message field.
For students or other community members to receive alerts, or for any users wishing to receive other notifications such as sports alerts, you will need to self register for these notifications.
