In honor of Our Husky Softball victory and so we can support our young ladies, we will have a 2-hour early release on Wed., May 22nd for the upcoming regional game at 2:00PM in Massillon Vs Wellington.

Attention all seniors…
After graduation practice on Thursday, May 31, we will have a party outside at the pavilion.  There will be food, games, and raffles provided by the senior class officers.  Join us for one last celebration before graduation.

Join the Wayne County Performing Arts Council in the jungle this summer with the
musical, “Disney’s The Lion King, Jr.” the weekends of June 14th and 21st at the
Wooster High School Performing Arts Center. For more details, pick up a flyer from the
main office.

SENIORS:  Sunday, May 26th @ 2pm there will be a baccalaureate program at Mohican Church.  This is not mandatory, but all are invited.
Senior awards will be held on May 28 at 7pm in the HS auditorium.

Final Exam dates:
Sr. exams – May 21 & 22
The underclassmen exams will be on the following dates:
Tuesday, May 28th - Periods 1, 4, 5
Wednesday, May 29th - Periods 2, 6, 7
Thursday, May 30th - Periods 3, 8

The exam schedule will be:
Exam Period 1: 7:25-8:45
Exam Period 2: 8:55-10:15
Exam Period 3: 10:25-11:45
Lunch: 11:55

Make Up or Rescheduled Exams: 12:40-2:23

Reminders:
All classes, excluding study hall, must have a final exam or culminating activity
Students do not need to come in until their first exam each day and may leave after their last exam each day   If a student has an exam, study hall, then an additional exam - then they must stay for the entire block of time.

Reminder to all underclassmen:  Bussing forms are due back to the front office ASAP.

Public Service Reminder:  Any student that has something stolen from you must report to the office immediately.  Also, if you have a lock that does not work, please report to office.  

Any student who will be driving to school this year will need to stop in at the front office and pick up a parking application. A new parking permit is needed for each school year. Parking permits are to be hung from the rear view mirror in your vehicle.  

Student Services Announcements

The American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship is now available. Please visit Naviance in order to complete an application. Applications must be turned into Mr. Hughes no later than today, May 21, 2019.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has an amazing opportunity for high school juniors and seniors who are motivated, enthusiastic self-starters who are interested in law and government. The mission of the Teen Ambassador Board is to provide Ohio’s future leaders with an inside look at Ohio law and government. The Board consists of high school students from around the state. Applicants selected will serve a one-year term and convene twice in Columbus during their tenure on the Board. Members will advise our office on issues relating to teens and work with their peers to develop solutions to those issues. Students will be placed into small groups, advised by an Assistant Attorney General. Members will attend presentations on a wide variety of topics. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with Attorney General Dave Yost, attend events around the state throughout the year, visit our Columbus and regional offices, interact with Assistant Attorneys General, and hear from various elected officials.  Applications are due by June 30, 2019.  Additional information and the application for the program can be found at:  http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/State-and-Local-Government/Schools/Teen-Ambassador-Board

2019 Wayne County Student Athlete of the Year Scholarships are now active. Please locate the scholarship application via Naviance. Applications must be turned into the student services office no later than May 24th.  Please contact Mr. Hughes with any questions you may have.

TRECA Summer School is the perfect option for 9th-12th grade students looking to complete a course in advance of an upcoming semester or make up credit for a course they may have failed. Courses are entirely online!  Registration is April 17 – June 7, 2019, and classes go from June 12 – August 7, 2019 at 4pm.  Transcripts are mailed to schools starting August 12.  The Cost is $95 per .5 credit course.  Visit:  https://treca.org/programs/summer for more information.

MEDCAMP is designed to provide “hands-on” experiences in bio-medical science workshops involving research, clinical problem-solving and an introduction to the fields of clinical medicine.
Applicants must be 18 years old by the day of MEDCANP, graduated high school, must be enrolled at a college or university entering their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of undergraduate education, and have a GPA of 3.0 or greater.  This camp runs from July 11-13, 2019 with registration beginning at 12:00 noon.  The cost for this experience is $150 for this unique opportunity. Applications may be found on their website at neomed.edu/medcamp.

Employment opportunities for any students that are not sure of their future after graduation. Seaman Corporation manufactures a chemically coated fabric that our end user then uses for things like truck tarps, pond liners, roofing membranes etc. They have benefits that start on Day 1 that include vision/dental and after 30 days of employment they have a 401K. If there are any students who might want to take some time off before going to college, after a year of employment, they will help pay for college. Starting pay is $14.00/hr and have 2nd and 3rd shifts available. Those shifts also receive a $0.75/hr shift differential. They do require candidates to be 18 years of age and be able to pass a background and drug test. There are open mat and lifting calendars for spring and summer in the front office for anyone that is interested in wrestling for next year.

There are spring/summer volleyball schedules available for pick up in the front office for all volleyball players.
