Husky Picture

The goal of the Student Services Office is to meet the individual needs of every student - academic, college and career, social, and emotional.  The office provides information regarding course options, scheduling, career development, college search and application process, College Credit Plus, graduation requirements and scholarships.

Office staff members are Mr. Hughes and Mrs. Burkholder. We are here to help and look forward to working with students and their family as they navigate through high school and plan for the future!

Leo D. Welty Scholarship

The Northwestern Local Education Association is sponsoring the Leo D. Welty Memorial Scholarship.  This is an annual scholarship in memory of Leo D. Welty, a former teacher, principal, and the first superintendent of the Northwestern Local School District.  Additional funds were made in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Keener, former school board member and teacher, and also in memory of lifetime resident, Mr. Charles Myers.  Donations have also been received from community residents.

To be eligible for this scholarship, one must be a Northwestern High School graduate and have completed at least 2 years of college post NHS graduation with enough hours of undergraduate work to be classified as a junior in an accredited college or university working on his/her bachelor’s degree.  Graduate school students are not eligible for this scholarship.  This scholarship will only be given once per Northwestern graduate.

Applications are available in the Student Services Office of Northwestern High School or may be downloaded from the district website.  All applications must be returned by November 27.
