Welcome to the Student Services Page!

The main goal of the Student Services Office is to meet the individual needs of every student - academic, college, career, social, and emotional.  The office provides information regarding course options, scheduling, career development, college search and application process, College Credit Plus, graduation requirements, scholarships, and mental health issues.

Miss McGraw is the Guidance Counselor and Mrs. Burkholder is the office secretary. We are both here to help, and we look forward to working with students and their family as they navigate through high school and plan for the future!

22-23 Juniors and Seniors needed for Attorney General Teen Ambassador Board

Attorney General

Attorney General Seeks Ohio High School Students to Serve on Teen Ambassador Board

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced today that his office is now accepting applications for its Teen Ambassador Board.
The Attorney General’s Teen Ambassador Board consists of upper-level high school students from public, private, charter and online schools in Ohio as well as students who are home-schooled. The mission of the program is to provide Ohio’s future leaders with an inside look at Ohio law and government.
“I have had the pleasure of getting to know some great future leaders through the Teen Ambassador Board,” Yost said. “We hope this opportunity helps to attract young people into pursuing careers focused on protecting and serving Ohioans.”
Board members advise the office on issues relating to teens and collaborate with their peers to develop solutions to those issues. They serve a one-year term, during which they participate in activities throughout the state.
Ohio high school students who will be juniors or seniors during the 2022-23 academic year are eligible to apply for the Teen Ambassador Board.
Applications are due July 1, 2022. The application can be found on the Ohio Attorney General's website
New/Returning Student Registration
To register a new or returning student, click here:

After the online forms have been completed, the Student Services office (419-846-3833) will call you to set up an appointment to complete the registration process, and for our staff to help you and your child select classes.  You may print the course selection form for the appropriate grade level and use the Course Selection Book to read course descriptions and feel free to bring questions with you!

Please bring the following important documents with you to your appointment:

Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Immunization Record, 2 items that show Proof of Residency (can be your driver's license and a piece of mail addressed to you at your address), and Custody papers, if applicable to your family. If your child has an IEP, please bring the most recent copy of that document.  You may bring originals, and we will make copies of your documents.

We will have you sign a record request form when you are here to send to the previous school for records. However, it sometimes takes several days or even weeks to get records.  We cannot rely on getting these important documents from the school, as they are needed to complete registration.

NAVIANCE Student Accounts

NAVIANCE Student Accounts

All students are given a Naviance log in to help plan for the future.  Many Husky Huddle activities involve Naviance, and will help students become familiar with it.  To log on to your Naviance account, go to:  http://connection.naviance.com/northwesternhs

In Naviance, students will submit transcript requests, select colleges to which they have applied, request letters of recommendation, search for local scholarships as they become available, do various college and career assessments/searches, and more! Naviance is also linked with Common App, which makes applying for college simpler.

Please see Mrs. Burkholder or Miss McGraw if you are unsure of your login or password.

Active scholarships are posted on Naviance.  After logging in to your student Naviance account, click on the Colleges tab, and then on the Scholarship link.  The list is updated on a regular basis, so make it a practice to check weekly for new scholarships.  Some applications are filled out electronically, others will need to be printed and mailed.  Be sure to pay attention to deadlines, as you can miss out on an opportunity by sending in a late application. The high school daily announcements also has information about other opportunities that are available in the community, as we receive them.

The Wayne County Community Foundation will mail a copy of this booklet shortly before Christmas Break.

Keep in mind that this is one of the only times in life where you can jump through a few hoops and receive money!  It takes work, and dedication, but it can help take the sting out of college costs, even for 2-year or trade schools.
