Yesterday, we kicked off the 3rd Annual Pages for Payton Book Drive at Northwestern High School to commemorate the short but impactful life of Payton Feltner, who was born at 23 weeks on April 6th, 2024, to Matt and Ashley Feltner.

Matt is a custodian at Northwestern High School, and Ashley is the NHS JV softball coach.

Payton’s parents were blessed with two brief weeks to know and love her while she was cared for in the Akron Children’s NICU. One of Matt and Ashley’s favorite things to do with Payton during that time was to read to her. 

Payton departed this world on April 19th, 2024. Matt and Ashley have worked with Northwestern Local Schools and the NHS National Honor Society for the past two years to collect book donations to deliver to the Akron Children's NICU. They hope to continue blessing the Akron Children’s NICU with this book drive each year so other parents may know the blessing of connecting with their child through reading.

Please consider donating new or very gently used children's books for this wonderful cause. The book drop off is in the entryway of the high school during normal school hours.
