Northwestern's alert system provided through Wayne County is transitioning to an app based notification for mobile devices. The original system was intended to be used for emergency alerts and not for day-to-day notifications of school events, bussing, etc. The new app based system will also allow for larger more clear notifications and not require multiple SMS messages being sent for a single alert.
